The Flickr site, identified below, banks images donated by families for the purpose of aiding journalists, bloggers, editors and producers who are working on stories about home funerals. All images carry a generous Creative Commons license that permits others to use them freely with appropriate attribution for noncommercial purposes. The families depicted in the images either donated the images or consented to having the images included in the collection.

Home funerals are final arrangements that are directed by the families rather than commercial providers, although some families may choose to involve a commercial provider for selected tasks. In a home funeral, a family typically oversees the care and preparation of the body for burial or cremation; arranges any rituals or ceremonies; oversees arrangements of the death certificate and other legal requirements; and coordinates with a cemetery or crematory for the final disposition. A few home funerals involve burial on the family's own land. Home funerals are legal in 44 states; in the remaining states, a family can work with a commercial provider to assume at least some of the tasks involved.

The Undertaken With Love Project is a noncommercial initiative of a cadre of volunteer home funeral advocates across America aimed at increasing awareness of the home funeral option.
