Diabetes: Sweet Sweet Sorrow ... How to Give Your Body a Fighting Chance
Bristol Chiropractor writes about Diabetes: Most of us have heard of Type 1 diabetes (known as Diabetes Insipidus) which causes the sufferer to loss an extreme amount of fluid.

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 27, 2009 --
This occurs through urine loss and has historically been known as juvenille diabetes or insulin dependant diabetes. This occurs in a previously susceptible person who encounters an environmental stress that brings on insatiable thirst and frequent urination – red flags for Type 1.
Then there is Type 2 diabetes, known as non-insulin dependant diabetes or Adult Onset diabetes - though it is happening more commonly in young persons at an alarming rate. Did you know that one tin of cola contains about 10 teaspoons of sugar?
But unfortunately, recent studies have also begun to indicate that artificial sweeteners can trick your body into a sluggish metabolism, and this causes a person to lay down more calories – the opposite effect of what is desired.
Then to complicate matters, a new, double whammy phenomenon has emerged known as “double diabetes” mixed diabetes, or hybrid Type 3 diabetes, which, put simply is a combination of some the detrimental effects of Type 1 diabetes, combined with some of the detrimental effects of Type 2 diabetes, leaving the individual at risk of the insulin resistance of Type 2 diabetes with the need for the insulin of Type 1, the insulin that their bodies wont accept.
So what course of action can people take to protect themselves and their friends and family? One key factor is the control of a sweet tooth, and the need for exercise to help make the diabetic body or pre-diabetic body) deal with blood sugar more efficiently, and that healthy diet we hear about all the time.
Eat less fast food - which has additives to increase the food’s shelf life but decrease your shelf-life. And eat more home cooked meals, especially foods with cinnamon, celery, turmeric, and sulphur based foods (such as onion and garlic), poultry, salmon, and tuna, whole grain rice, and vegetables – as these foods help to naturally improve digestion, prevent infections, lower triglycerides, lower blood sugar and eliminate high uric acid levels - and they taste incredibly good once you get over the addiction of a sweet tooth!
Blood that is chock-full of extra sugar is blood that cannot carry as much oxygen to your tissues, and oxygen is like music to the life of all of your cells. High concentrations of sugar also means that you reach your credit limit with uric acid much sooner as well, and too much uric acid can lead to heart dis-ease and the well known Gout, as well as uric acid kidney stones.
The other great preventative reliever of blood sugar disorders are a pair of good hiking boots. Developing the habit of a long walk will do much to boost your metabolism and is far more conservative option which poses less of a joint injury risk, which could stop your efforts dead in their tracks.
TIP: If you are on medication don’t modify it on your own without supervision of your GP. Be wary of instant internet cures for long term metabolic disorders instead of sound medical advice, good old fashioned common sense nutrition, and exercise.
