New Performance Features for Mazak CNCs

MazaCAM is the leader in off-line programming for Mazak’s Mazatrol conversational language and as such, will now give users the programming tools to cut their parts efficiently and quickly. The following describe some of the advancements that help Mazatrol programmers get their job done with less effort and more productivity.

Tool-Path Check:
With the introduction of the Tool-Path Check users will not just verify the tool motion -- it goes beyond just Tool-Path check verification: it adds advanced features that allows the user to do rotation, select different views including 3D-Isometric, get info of process geometry, get distance verification of geometry, show tool motion, etc…

Operations-List and Tool-Sheet:

A programmer setting up a part to be cut at the machine is continually looking to reduce the amount of time it takes to prepare the machine. With the Performance Package printing the customizable operations lists include PNo., tool image, tool description, cut info, and prints the sequence in which the tools are to be used along with the sequence of the cuts. This also includes a feature where the user can set up a tool database including extensive tool-description and tool-supplier number, etc. which can be included on the tool-sheet. With existing Mazatrol programs, the tool-sheet may be printed to include the tool information directly from the Mazatrol program, this is very important for the machinist setting up the machine for the next part.

Run-time Estimate:

It is crucial for a busy machine shop to know how long each part is going to take to cut a part, with the run-time estimation ability in the Performance Package the programmer is now able to check the time it will take to run a Mazatrol program before he even sends the program to the machine. With features to help the programmer identify which tools take a long time and thus help him home in on areas where machine-time can be improved. This is very important in the case of reducing down-time, getting quotes out to customers, and preparing the machine to run.

MazaCAM which can also include a full CAD/CAM system gives the users more options and control over their Mazaks. With the variety of Mazak controls over the years, it is important for machine shops to get the edge over the competition by taking advantage of every tool at the users’ disposal.
