Jerry Lewis' Children Speak Out in the New Biography, Jerry's Kid: The Suzan Lewis Story

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 30, 2009 -- In March of 2009, legendary rock 'n' roll performer Gary Lewis, of Gary Lewis and the Playboys, came forward on national TV to announce to the world, that Suzan Lewis is his sister, and the daughter of entertainer Jerry Lewis. Gary and Suzan Lewis presented the results of their positive DNA test to the media put all doubt to rest.

Jerry Lewis has known for the past 57 years that Suzan Lewis is his child. They even spent quality time together in France in 1980. But since learning that Suzan is now legally disabled, and was formerly homeless, the winner of the motion picture academy's "Humanitarian Award," will have nothing to do with his daughter, and will not respond to questions posed to him by the media.

On TV's Inside Edition, and then again on the Howard Stern radio show, Gary Lewis said he offered to help his sister because, "Everyone deserves to know where they came from, and who they are." When asked about her feelings about being brought into this world as the result of an accident, Suzan Lewis said, "There are no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents."

In this new biography of his sister, Gary Lewis talks about his own upbringing as the first born son of Jerry Lewis. For the first time, Gary Lewis addresses comments his father made to the press in the early 1970s regarding Gary's struggle with drug addiction. The elder Lewis blamed it all on his son's witnessing the violent death of his two friends in Viet Nam. Gary explains that having to carry on that fabrication to protect his father's credibility, has been a bigger psycological burden than anything that happened during the two years he proudly served his Country.

Jerry's Kid: The Suzan Lewis Story, is a saga that goes far beyond a woman in search of her father. It is an emotional roller coaster involving several lives and how they all came together.
