(San Francisco, California) At OpenSSO Community Day 3.0, Gluu announced the alpha release of its new website: http://www.gluu.org, a networking tool for building communities of businesses and organizations. "No corporation is an island," explained Michael Schwartz, CEO and founder of Gluu, "Organizations today are defined by their communities: their internal staff, essential suppliers, partners and customers. Traditional IdM solutions do not address the challenges of managing community identities. Failures in community identity management can lead to significant security problems, even where sophisticated authentication and authorization systems are in place."

"Gluu is a community clearinghouse for identity," continued Schwartz. "It enables organizations to push and pull community identity information as needed. The SAML 2.0 federation protocol, fully supported by Gluu, enables inter-domain single sign-on. Gluu complements SAML by providing the business workflow needed for organizations to collaborate."

The launch of the Gluu infrastructure was a major milestone, and the alpha release is also an important step in the evolution of the service. This release of Gluu enables inter-domain Identity management functionality, including web based user and group management, bulk user management, virtual appliance integration, and web services integration. Federated single sign-on via SAML 2.0 is also supported.

Gluu is seeking organizations that need to federate, and are not satisfied with the current alternatives. Membership in Gluu is free. For more information or to register with Gluu, visit http://www.gluu.org.
