New Active Manuka Honey Testing and Rating System Announced

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 4, 2009 -- A recent publication by Dr. Molan about 'rating the activity of Manuka honey' addresses the shortcomings of the current rating systems.

The Waikato Honey Research Unit which created the world-wide standard to test Manuka honey for its unique antibacterial activity, is about to launch a better and more reliable test, complete with its own trademark.

With this new rating system customers get a better sight on which Manuka honey products are reliably tested by an independent authority for their antibacterial activity.

The new University of Waikato test is expected to be ready for use in the coming weeks. As mentioned by a spokesman of WaikatoLink, the university's commercialization arm on 24 April 2009.
