Help for Families on the Autism Spectrum: Tampa Dr. Nelson Mane forms H.I.T Support Squad

“There is a need in the Autism community of Tampa Bay for parents to be able to share ideas, support each other and network” said Tampa Dr. Nelson Mane. We have already helped the autism community with education through seminars and now the upcoming conferences but parents have expressed the need to me for an opportunity to meet in a physical location and exchange ideas. For this reason we have started a support group for parents with children on the Autism Spectrum (A.D.D, A.D.H.D, Sensory Integration, Processing Disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Tourettes Syndrome and Autism) to meet on the 2nd Thursday of every month at Casa Mexicana located at 4115 E. Busch Blvd. in Tampa (Casa.mexicanabargrill.com). Our first meeting will be on June 11th at 7:00 P.M. Casa Mexicana has generously offered to provide chips, salsa and soda for our group at no charge. Casa mexicana’s full bar and menu is authentic and delicious and will be available if you don’t have time for dinner. We have several parents that are very involved in the legislative process and can help put other parents in touch with resources that can advance Autism services statewide. Others can help offer advice regarding IEP’s as well as tips for coping and managing life on a day to day basis. Our hope is that this exchange of ideas will help all involved. We are planning to set up play dates for increased social exposure for the kids also. “We are planning to arrange free events where parents can take their kids (Such as movies) so both parents and children alike get enjoy a social outing in a supportive atmosphere” said Dr. Mane. Dr. Nelson Mane is a chiropractic physician, board certified in chiropractic neurology and chiropractic orthopedics. He is a D.A.N (Defeat Autism Now) doctor. He has additional sub-specialty training in childhood neruo-behavioral disorders. Dr. Mane was one of eleven chiropractors chosen by the American Chiropractic Association out of 60,000 to start the first chiropractic neurology specialty board. He is one of the few chiropractors in the country board certified in both chiropractic neurology and chiropractic orthopedics. He is considered pioneer in the field of Hemispheric Integration Therapy (H.I.T.) for childhood neurobehavioral disorders.
