Well now that you got your new dog or puppy the excitement begins. Alot of things are going through your mind like what to name your new dog, the kind of toys you're going to buy for them etc but most of all how to train your dog.

It can be really fun and rewarding training your dog to obey or do little tricks. Then again for some, if not many, it can be really frustrating. The first thing to do is dog potty training. It can be easy or it can be frustrating but regardless YOU have to know how and do it the right way.

It's sad to say but many owners don't really deserve to have a dog. I've seen many dogs being neglected once they have grown out of their puppy stage (even older ones) and then left unattended, chained up or left indoors without going for walks like they should with their owners. But I won't get into that because I get very upset just talking about it only because it's true. Let's focus on how to train your dog.

I myself love dogs. Period. My current dog a beautiful chocolate brown chihuahua. On my way to go get her I was so excited that the short distance trip took forever. When I finally got there the owner let me in to see her and she was the most precious pup I've ever seen. She looked at me, I looked at her. Our eyes were locked in. She immediately jumped right into my lap and pee'd on me but hey I didn't mind because she didn't know any better. If not on me then somewhere else like on my bed or in the house.

I knew that I was ready. I had the patience and time to train her. I did this all on my own without the books, videos or advise from anyone. I must say that it wasn't easy but accomplished what I was supposed to do and it was very rewarding. Now everyone that comes in contact with her just loves being around her. She behaves so well. By the way, I named her Pixie.

Actually my mother gave her that name all because of a dream that she had about her and called her by that name. The next morning, Pixie was her new name. I was actually going to call her Taco...boy I'm glad I didn't. Thanks Mom!

As far as training her, I had the time to do it on my own without any e-books or DVD's and I must say I did a pretty good job.
