A GRAND AFFAIRE CATERING WINS HERB HORS D’OEUVRE CHALLENGE FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!!
a benefit for the King County Master Gardener Foundation
A Grand Affaire Catering is happy to announce that for the SECOND year in a row, they take home the Golden Brussels Sprout Award from the 3rd Annual Herb Hors d’oeuvres Challenge! Winning this years competition proved to be quite the challenge, but their now award-winning Mediterranean Vegetable Cakes with Lemon-Thyme and Parmesan Crème Fraiche won over the crowd of more than 200 and their taste buds.
Commonly mistaken for a crab cake because of its appearance, the Mediterranean Vegetable Cake is quickly becoming a menu staple for most events. But don’t let its appearance fool you. The combination of shredded zucchini, red pepper, carrots and shallots with egg, panko, lots of garlic and thyme all fried up and topped with a lemon-thyme and parmesan crème fraiche make this tasty hors d’ oeuvre one of a kind. People of all ages from toddlers to elders rave about the creativity and originality and most often their surprise at how much flavor is packed into this two-bite morsel.
Competition was undoubtedly stiff this year with hors d’ oeuvres from several other well-known Seattle caterers including The Wedge, Herban Feast Catering and Pocco Coretto, but A Grand Affaire was able to wow the guests and hold onto their second year win of the Golden Brussels Sprout Award. A photo session with Ciscoe Morris, gardening extraordinaire topped off the win and ended the fabulous evening.
