Company Wins Award and Introduces Defeet Cycling Socks for Breast Cancer Awareness
TC’s Warriors in Motion is a cause-oriented enterprise that sells cycling apparel and pet accessories to build cancer awareness.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) June 12, 2009 --
Santa Ana, Calif. (June 12, 2009) – Santa Ana business woman Teresa Christopher has been honored with a Leaders of Distinction award by the Institute for Women Entrepreneurs (IWE).
Christopher is the founder and president of TC’s Warriors in Motion, which sells cycling apparel, pet accessories and other merchandise to support breast cancer awareness. She was one of several women to receive the prestigious award. “IWE is proud to recognize its client, Teresa, as an Entrepreneur of Distinction. As a two-time (cancer) survivor and successful entrepreneur, her motto of faith, courage, strength and the sisterhood of friends serves as an inspiration to us all,” says IWE Director Sallie Salinas.
The IWE Leaders of Distinction award was established in 2008 to honor and celebrate the unwavering commitment of women whose vision and leadership advance the growth and fulfilment of women, the communities they serve, and the small businesses they impact every day.
Christopher is a well-deserving winner of the IWE award. “Through product sales, Teresa is able to contribute back to the community she loves, has expanded her Web site to include critical resources and advocacy, and selflessly gives assistance to several local and non-profit organizations,” states the IWE Web site.
Christopher’s recognition by the IWE is due in great part to the introduction of her “Attacking the Hill with Hope” Defeet cycling socks, cycling jerseys made exclusively by Louis Garneau and adorable doggie accessories. The durable, high quality cycling merchandise—all made in the United States—helps to provide important financial support for breast cancer awareness.
The success of TC’s Warriors in Motion is a testament to Christopher’s business acumen and personal tenacity. “I started my business toward the end of my battle with breast cancer,” she says. “I had to put my business on the back burner due to a recurrence in 2008; yet, I was able to introduce cycling socks in 2009.”
Through partnerships with well-known cycling apparel companies, TC’s Warriors in Motion sells quality goods online to benefit breast cancer survivors and their families. Each purchase of cycling socks, cycling jerseys and pet accessories provide much-needed financial support and hope to people who have been touched by the disease. TC’s Warriors in Motion is a strong advocate for breast cancer awareness on a local level. Currently, the company is working with the Beautiful Day Foundation to provide information about breast cancer in younger women. Last March, TC’s Warriors in Motion hosted a bowl fundraiser for Breast Angels of Orange County. In the future, the company also would like to offer education to new cancer patients. “I have visions of working with a local hospital to host a TC Warrior Tea party to provide new-diagnosis women with hints to help them survive breast cancer treatment,” Christopher says.
