L. Green Studios wins 2009 National Silver Award NAHB for Jim Chapman Communities

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 16, 2009 -- Inspired by the architecture and planning of Jim Chapman for Brookhaven at East Cobb, Laura Green Thome designed interiors that reflect the travels and well collected look a homebuyer may aquire when moving into a Jim Chapman Community. By Combining reproduction antiques as well as simple panels the Living Room denotes hearthside chats and late evening conversations bringing objects of art and collections from another time into play.

L. Green Studios goal was to create and inspire residences that felt open and comfortable, a place ready to move larger pieces from a previos home into with out feeling forced or cramped. Both the Oxford and Westminster were designed with that philosphy in mind. The open and spacious floorplans as well as the high ceilings allowed us to do so.

We used parchment and chocolate tones combined with aubergine in the Westminster to pull in the warmer and bolder contrast. Silk panels alongside a valence in the Master Suite were designed to frame the view and soften the space. The handcarved mahogany rice bed with four posters helps to draw your eye upward to the vaulted ceilings increasing the presence of the room.

The Oxford has a decidedly lighter feel and a fresher palette of colors combined with a transitional style of furnishing. We used high contrast with black etegere's and a gray blue boucle fabric on a pair of slipper chairs. The ottoman's were used instead of a coffee table to invite guest and homeowner alike to 'put their feet up'.

The Brookhaven at East Cobb's Clubhouse, winner of NAHB 2008 Clubhouse of the Year under 6,000 square feet, has a classic warmth that can be attributed to Sherwin Williams Hopsack covering the walls and ceiling. The furnishings include a dark espresso leather by Bernhardt among chenille's in a russet color on a pair of English Arm Sofa's.
