After looking for possible venues for the expansion of the Kyudokan in Bahrain, the Children's Health Academy for Specialized Sciences (CHAOSS) has opened its arms to the Kyudokan in Budaiya.
The ultimate aim of the Kyudokan in Bahrain is to spread karate to the public. The style of karate taught by the school is Shorin Ryu Kyudokan, one of the recognized descendant schools of several pioneering karate masters in Okinawa, Japan.
The dojo or karate school's aim is to improve not only the body but also the mind, character and spirit of its participants. Strengthening of the body is done through exercises that gradually increase in difficulty as a student progresses his/her rank. Conditioning of the mind is done through practice of the "kata" or
forms which is a series of movements that simulate an actual fight. Forging the spirit is done through the more calmer activities of the class such as meditation, among others.
The karate school also focuses on developing the character of each student. Etiquette and discipline is applied in the dojo and lessons on the principles and ethics of karate are given regularly.
