New Group launched, "Lets Something Good be Said"

The great minds of Mandeville, La, launch a new group with a positive slant

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) June 23, 2009 -- In the face of the struggles of the current economic climate, and the personal strife that this and other factors can present, there is a glimmer of hope in Mandeville, La. That precious glimmer is provided by the so-called “Great minds of Mandeville” who held their inaugural meeting recently in a tea-room in Mandeville, just a few blocks from the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain.

The group is called “Let Something Good be Said” and represents an anomaly of the current social circumstances that, had this happened in England, the anomaly could be called a “stiff upper lip”. None of the nay-saying of the gloom and doom merchants. This group of entrepreneurs is looking forward, and sees the best way of doing so is not to look back.

Yes, they know times are tough. Yes they know it is going to be difficult to regain the levels of social comfort we have been used to until around the turn of the century. But (and that is a word which is never to be used in the company of these optimists) the best way to move forward is to look forward and, as the name of the group professes: “let something good be said”.

Over a dozen people from around the Mandeville and New Orleans region showed up at Vianne’s Tea Salon on the beautiful Girod Street in Mandeville on Saturday 20th June; a hot day and the perfect setting for such an inaugural gathering. Their purpose was “not to change the course of western civilization”, as one of the founder members Rene Wagerspack announced, but it was the responsibility of all participants to say, or quote, "something good".

And so they did. Bringing along favorite texts and sayings, and some their own experiences, each member of the group added their own personal brand of optimism to the sultry air. Some spoke of how they had overcome trying personal circumstances to look forward in life; while others quoted written phrases which have served them well

The world was a better place for it. At least in Mandeville, Louisiana.
