FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) June 29, 2009 --
An easy way to share videos and pictures of the people you love has brought about a social media networking site called Flickr. In a society of overwhelming social media networking sites, it is refreshing to find a website like Flickr with a specific purpose. Flickr was designed in February 2004 and has been growing since. It is in more ways than one a media site for the people. Members are able to upload their favorite pictures and videos to share.
Some of the key features of Flickr not initially present but soon added are the abilities to separate your pictures. You can mark some as favorites, or separate them into groups. Tagging provides to be a helpful addition as well in order to keep the pictures organized and document people and dates. It is also possible to share your pictures with friends only or publicly.
The option of sharing pictures publicly brings a new aspect to Flickr that Facebook or Myspace cannot. Members are given the opportunity to look for a picture of absolutely anything they desire. Be it a picture of the Mackinaw Bridge or pictures of sting rays in their natural environments, chances are someone on the site has taken a picture and loaded it to their member profile.
The drawback to this perfect utopian picture sharing site is that there is a limit to the amount of material you can upload each month. Unless of course you want to spring for the Flickr Pro profile and pay a monthly fee. With that being said, Flickr increases the amounts of material daily in amateur and professional photography alike. Newest perk to posting your pictures is the possibility of cash for doing something you love. Getty Images has joined with Flickr and scans over three million photos offering a range of $200-$500 dollars per picture. So if you love sharing your work as well as the idea of possibly getting paid for it, Flickr is your site!
