Jacksonville, FL, June 30, 2009—The First Coast Tea Party (FCTP) organization (www.firstcoastteaparty.org) announced today that their second Tea Party will be held on July 2nd at The Landing in downtown Jacksonville. The group’s first Tea Party held on April 15th drew a crowd of more than 5,000. The First Coast Tea Party is just one of hundreds of similar rallies that are scheduled nationwide over the Independence Day weekend.
The July 2 Tea Party Freedom Rally will be a peaceful, patriotic, and informative gathering of everyday Americans who oppose wasteful spending, increased taxes, and intrusive government. Special speakers and singers include ordinary Americans and Jacksonville radio talk show hosts.
The rally will also focus on national health care reform.

Medical professionals will speak about a public plan to cover the nation’s uninsured—a plan that independent analysis estimates will cost more than $4 trillion dollars over 10 years. Prior to the rally, taxpayers are invited to come early and hand deliver letters about their position on health care reform to state and federal representatives, who are also invited to attend.
WHAT: The First Coast Tea Party Freedom Rally
WHO: First Coast Residents
WHERE: The Landing in downtown Jacksonville
WHEN: July 2, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. (Health care letter hand off, 4-5:00 p.m.)
“These rallies are a way to gather people together and send a message to Washington,” said Billie Tucker, an organizer of the FCTP. “If our elected representatives continue
to spend our money and take over private institutions, as they are proposing with nationalized health care, we will unseat them in 2010.”
