Columbia-Pacific Energy Expo 2009 In Seaside

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 8, 2009 -- Under the theme “Energy…It’s Everyone’s Business” the Expo will feature emerging energy technologies as well as showcase the future of traditional energy sources from large regional companies and smaller local producers.

Promoted by the Seaside Chamber of Commerce based on an idea presented by Clatsop County Commissioner, Ann Samuelson, the Expo became a reality when Energy Action Northwest stepped forward as a sponsor.

Alan Smiles, Executive Director of the Chamber said. “Ann came to us with the concept and introduced us to Ed Finklea, Executive Director of Energy Action whose financial pledge gave us a base. Seaside is an ideal site. We have a multiplicity of emerging energy sources stretching from wind to waves and just about every other option that scientists and inventors are currently pursuing.”

The Expo will provide a forum for sharing and expanding knowledge among the professional energy community, associated business and industry, educational institutions and the general public. Samuelson noted, “The goal is to create bridges that will lead to practical, affordable processes for maximum future energy sustainability.’’

The event will feature presentations on emerging energy sources including wind, wave, solar, fuel cells and biomass/algae. Also covered will be effective conservation and efficiency, opportunities for small business in renewable energy, and the future of traditional sources and their value in building sustainability.
