In fact, as an astute reporter, I made it a point to have my auto glass replaced by Rock Star Auto Glass (yes, I had been driving with a cracked windshield for almost a year) before writing about the company.

Knowing I had this report to write I finally decided to have the auto glass replaced at my office in Phoenix. I was determined, however, to make this the most grueling windshield replacement Rock Star Auto Glass had ever endure with any customer.

The first dastardly deed on my list was to act like a total airhead when reporting the windshield claim to my insurance company. Between forgetting my insurance policy number, and telling the Rock Star Auto Glass customer service rep she should be able to look up my policy number in her system (which is clearly wrong) the CSR kept her cool and was quite polite, even against my greatest attempts.

Next on the list was to continually reschedule my appointment(Rock Star Auto Glass provides a Free Mobile service). However, they seemed to have no problem keeping up and calling me at my oddly requested times. I finally committed to a set time and location.

Ok, I said to myself, lets see them handle this one. I'll leave the house before they show up and I wont answer my phone. What'll they do then? Clearly I was outsmarted. I had forgotten the polite customer service rep had asked if I was not home, was it ok for the auto glass installer to replace my windshield anyway. Damn! I came home to a brand new, perfectly installed windshield.

This was getting frustrating! I decided to call Rock Start Auto Glass & complain about a non-existent flaw in the windshield. Within an hour of getting off the phone I had a Rock Star Auto Glass installer at my home! He carefully inspected the windshield and concluded there was no flaw (which there was not, I had made it up), but offered to replace the windshield anyhow. Wow! I said! You would replace the windshield even without a flaw?
He told me it was company policy to keep the customer happy.

At last, I felt defeated. I just couldn't find anything wrong with this company! Oh well, at least it left me with a good story to write about a Great Company...
