FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 23, 2009 --Usually these fakes are easy to spot because of internal errors, but Sophos comments that this one does look plausible: "the spelling and grammar are surprisingly correct, for malware authors".
However, the fact is that Microsoft will never email you an update: it wants you either to turn on Auto Updates or visit Microsoft's web site for security patches. Also, Outlook Express became obsolete about three years ago, when it was replaced by Windows Live Mail.
Outlook Express, a different application from Microsoft Office Outlook, is an e-mail/news client that was included with Internet Explorer versions Internet Explorer 4.0 through 6.0. Its outcome is along with several versions of Microsoft Windows, from Windows 98 to Windows XP, also was available for Windows 95 and Mac OS 9. In Windows Vista, Outlook Express is replaced with Windows Mail.
Outlook Express 7 - Windows Mail?
Windows Live Mail has since been released as the successor to Outlook Express and Windows Mail. Microsoft Entourage, sold as part of Microsoft Office for Macintosh, has replaced the Macintosh version.
Outlook Express 7 is what this program would have been named, however, with other services being rechristened - Hotmail is now Windows Live Hotmail, for instance - Microsoft decided to give a new name to their free email client - "Windows Mail".
Outlook Express is the same with Microsoft Office Outlook?
No! The two programs do not share a common codebase, but do share a common architectural philosophy. The similar names lead many people to incorrectly conclude that Outlook Express is a stripped-down version of Microsoft Office Outlook. Outlook Express uses the Windows Address Book to store contact information and integrates tightly with it. On Windows XP, it also integrates with Windows Messenger.
Outlook Password Recovery
Currently there is no way to password protect Outlook on startup or to lock Outlook if you need to quickly walk away from your computer other than by using Professional Outlook express password recovery software which is basically designed to retrieve multiple account passwords with their server account setting.
