First-of-its-kind event at area courses will support The First Tee of Michigan

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 24, 2009 -- West Bloomfield, Mich. (July 24, 2009) – Founder of Lesson On Golf.com, Jeff Lesson, believes that its time to give back to the community that has supported him for many years.

Lesson, a golf talk show host, columnist and enthusiast has assembled some of the area’s finest golf courses in Southeastern Michigan to host a “Free Day at the Links,” in support of The First Tee of Detroit on Tuesday, August 11th from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The First Tee of Detroit impacts the lives of young people of Michigan by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

Participating Lesson on Golf.com’s “Free Day at the Links” courses, include:

In addition, Bob Krause, Founder of the Bob Krause Golf Academy, will be offering free lessons from 1 -4 p.m. at Fieldstone Golf Club, located at 1984 Taylor Rd. in Auburn Hills. Please call 248-887-4334 x224 to arrange a lesson.

Please visit, www.lessonongolf.com to view all of the participating courses. To register, please call the selected course and mention “Lesson On Golf’s Free Day at the Links” and secure your tee time. Walking the course is free and for a minimum $20 donation to First Tee, a cart will be included.

NOTE: Some of the participating courses may only accept a reservation, beginning one week prior to the event.

“A free day at the links seems like the right thing to do given the state of our economy,” said Lesson. “Not only will golfers be able to experience some of the best courses that this area has to offer, but more importantly, they will be able to support such a great organization, The First Tee of Detroit.”
