It retains the focus of Tent Topped Camping Trailers® tailored to smaller, fuel-efficient vehicles and has been designed with DIY for those who enjoy the satisfaction of building something with their own two hands. Like the Explorer Box, it notably expands your available space for camping adventures, while minimizing the impact on mileage, handling and braking when towing.

Scott Chaney owner of CCC said, “For the Explorer Pod I wanted an off-road look detached from the “box” styling of the Explorer Box. From feedback we received, I replaced the shelved storage compartments with removable storage containers for easy moving of gear to your picnic table. For improved off-pavement towing, I put together a “soft-ride” automotive grade suspension. This translates into no more broken bottles and other vibration related issues. As with the Explorer Box, it utilizes a rapid open, folding style, tent unit referred to as a rooftop tent.
