Tampa Bay's Save The Radio! An Irish-American Pop Rock Band formed in late 2007 have released their debut EP on Diesel Records/Amazon this week as a precursor to the full length due in Fall 09'. S.T.R!'s sound blends elements of 90's College Rock, Dark Wave, Power Pop and White Soul to establish their unique identity in the Music Industry. Their original material draws comparisons to Shawn Smith(Brad/Satchel),Gavin DeGraw,Coldplay,Social Distortion,Tonic,Theory of a Dead Man,Tears For Fears and Abbey-Road era Beatles.
The four song EP draws on shades of what's to come from the Power-Pop Social Distortion-esque rocker "The Phoenix Lights",the Alt-Lite hooks and harmonies of "Hearts and Pride" to the John Lennon-ish Shaved Fish era balledry
of "Your Fire" and completing the disc with a more pop-envelope pushing "Occam's Razor" which could draw it's comparisons to Coldplay meets Tears for Fears Retro-isms of the U.K. sound. The EP went available 7-25-09 on Amazon.com as well as savetheradio.bandcamp.com and will be followed by availability on : I-Tunes(US,CAnada,Australia,Japan,UK),Rhapsody,Lime-Wire Store,Napster,Emusic,IMVU,LaLa and Shockhound digital music sites no later than August 26,2009.
The Full length Save The Radio! LP is expected to arrive in late fall 2009 and will feature other songs currently being performed live including: "When the morning comes","Collide","Falling","Deep",the single:"Break my Heart" as well as a yet to named
Cover song and different versions of the songs on the EP.
Save The Radio! are currently performing in Florida and are expected to Support Multi-platinum Act: Tonic on their south-east US dates. STR recently signed with National Booking Agency Lane Productions in association with Jane's World Entertainment and will be taking their show on the road where as interested markets request and hopefully demand: Save The Radio!
