Free Press Release
We Need To Broaden The Recycling laws To Include All Cans and Bottles.

2004-06-21
By N.O.F.E.A.R.

Independent Presidential Candidate, Ronald Judd Moore, released this statement on the recycling environmental issue.

For_Immediate_Release:

He believes that it can be dealt with effectively and with little burden to everyone.

“I propose that a uniform bottle deposit law be mandated for all states and that the deposit be raised from the present 5 cents to 10 cents per container. In order to raise funds for this recycling program, 2 cents shall be retained by the state government and only 8 cents returned to the bearer of the deposit item.

“I further propose that all plastic, glass, or metal beverage containers, not only carbonated beverages, be covered by the deposit law as well as broadening it to include all metal, glass and plastic foods cans, such as soup, and vegetable cans.

“I also propose that non-recyclable packaging materials be phased out by the year 2010. The use of plastics that cannot undergo the recycling process should also be outlawed.

“The present method of “recycling” plastic soda bottles by cutting them up and adding them to asphalt for road paving is not recycling, it is senseless and should be stopped. The same holds true for glass bottles. New methods for refining used glass must be developed and used.”
