Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) purchases HealthProLink System

Seattle, WA—September 17, 2004— HealthProLink announced today that San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) has purchased the HealthProLink System for use at all 42 CHW hospitals. CHW hospitals will use the HealthProLink System to document the daily clinical activities of pharmacy staff throughout their system.

The HealthProLink System will provide a uniform and systematic way to document pharmacist activities throughout the hospital system, making it easier to compare and benchmark hospitals within the CHW system and lead to improvements in overall clinical practice.

CHW hospitals will also benefit from the HealthProLink System’s advanced analysis and reporting tools. Pharmacy managers will have insight into the work their staff are doing on a daily basis, allowing them to quantify the real value each pharmacist is adding to the hospital’s operations. In the face of budget constraints, pharmacy managers will be able to use this data to justify new clinical positions and retain existing ones. Also, the HealthProLink System will allow pharmacy managers to demonstrate how the pharmacy improves patient care, by avoiding adverse drug reactions. This data will be used in conjunction with other hospital safety measures.
