The Dream Harvest Group based in Stratford, East London are urging the BME Community to support the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic bid

For_Immediate_Release:

London's 2012 Olympic bid is at a crucial stage and it is vitally important that people all over the United Kingdom back the bid to hold the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Support for the bid came from The Dream Harvest Group, one of the leading minority ethnic organisations based at the East London Centre in Stratford.

'We urge minority ethnic communities, individuals and organisations to back the London 2012 Olympic and paralympic bid - show your support by registering on the site, fly the bid flag, place stickers and make a loud noise about your support - it is now or never and we need to send a clear message that the people of our country - from all communities are united in their support for the London 2012 Olympic bid,' said Ivan Corea, Chief Executive of the Dream Harvest Group.

Dream Harvest have also urged Lord Sebastian Coe, Mayor Ken Livingstone, Sir Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham, Manny Lewis, Chief Executive of the London Development Agency, to engage with the minority ethnic communities in the Stratford area when it comes to delivering contracts, access to employment and jobs in Stratford City. 'We need to be at the top table too,' said Ivan Corea. Unemployment is still high in Newham and 'local people' must have access to local jobs if the Olympic bid is successful.

The minority ethnic community in the London Borough of Newham is now in the majority in the borough so their wholehearted support is vital.

Treasury Minister Stephen Timms recently visited Dream Harvest in Stratford to hear about the support of the company and the students of Dream Harvest College - for the 2012 Olympic Games.
