For as little as $12 to $18 participants can have a super cut to help find a cure for autism - a devastating disorder.

Patrons of all ages are invited to enjoy special guests, door prizes and give-a-ways. To reserve a free gift call Supercuts prior to the event at 215-628-8214.

The Cut-A-Thon kicks off Autism Awareness Month, celebrated every April to help raise public awareness about autism. Supercuts-North Wales will be donating the full day’s sales on April 3rd to help fund research to find a cure for autism. This terrible disorder often renders children incapable of communication, cutting them off from society and a chance at a normal life.

“Everyone on the Supercuts team is excited to help such a worthy cause,” said Jeff Gross, owner of the North Wales Supercuts. “Staff from several of our salons at different locations will be joining us to help the cause. Our stylists believe in giving and it is inspiring to see them work together to support such a deserving organization. We only hope that this day will prove to be a huge success and helps to bring CAN one step closer to finding a cure for autism.”

Local concerned parent Jay Brightman states, “We can’t thank the group at Supercuts enough for their passion for this cause. It means so much when people step up to help raise monies and awareness for autism. Our family is incredibly grateful for their efforts and energy. We are so excited about this event and look forward to a great success.”

The Brightman family has raised over $80,000 for CAN. Their interest in supporting the cause began 2 1/2 years ago when their daughter Emma was diagnosed as being autistic.

About the Cure Autism Now Foundation
Cure Autism Now is an organization of parents, clinicians and leading scientists committed to finding a cure for autism and related disorders through a variety of essential programs. Founded in 1995 by Jonathan Shestack and Portia Iversen, parents of a child with autism, the organization has grown to be one of the largest providers of support for autism research and resources in the country.

About Autism
Autism is a disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate and socially interact with others. The symptoms of this developmental disability can present themselves as early as infancy, while other children can develop normally then slowly slip away into a private world where it seems they can’t be reached. According to CAN research, autism currently affects 1 in every 166 children and that number is rising. More information about this baffling disorder and the efforts to find a cure can be found on the Cure Autism Now foundations website at www.cureautismnow.org.
