A century of fun and sun at the Crystal Beach Amusement Park. It was Western New York’s Coney Island and Canada’s playground for 100 years.

Erno Rossi’s latest book, Crystal Beach-The Good Old Days hits a nostalgic note with over 100 photos and the stories of those that enjoyed that magical place called Crystal Beach.

The big bands, the CANADIANA and the romantic stories of the park are explored in oral history fashion as was done in Rossi’s international best seller, White Death -The Blizzard of ’77.

Published in June, Rossi’s latest book about Crystal Beach is already in demand as a birthday and Christmas gift book, both in WNY and Canada.

Crystal Beach is where the American dream came true for Buffalo entrepreneurs John Evangelist Rebstock and the Hall family. So great was the need for this open space that 17 passenger ferries carried millions of people from America to the pristine water and sandy beaches of nearby Canada. "In the beginning there was heaven and earth. And on earth there was a heavenly place called Crystal Beach."

"Gone but not forgotten," says Rossi of the 100-year history of the Crystal Beach Amusement Park that closed its doors in 1989 to become a gated, residential community. The memory lingers on and is revived in Rossi's
202-page book, crammed with oral histories and over 100 colored and black and white photos. The history of the Crystal Beach Boat is told as well.

Rossi is also the author of the international best seller, White Death-The Blizzard of '77, a classic book that continues to have brisk sales after 27 years in print. Rossi now accepts interviews for media and club presentations for this summer, fall and winter.
