Barnes & Noble Stores will be hosting an event called "NJ Library Appreciation Days" on September 9th and 10th 2005. This event is sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association, the New Jersey State Library, and Barnes & Noble.
Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of every sale from every customer who presents a book fair voucher to benefit New Jersey's statewide summer reading program. Vouchers will only be given out at Barnes & Noble on September 9th and 10th, and only to those customers who request a voucher at the cash registers at Barnes & Noble stores. Otherwise, you can obtain a voucher beforehand at www.njstatelib.org or www.njla.org.
Special events will take place at many Barnes & Noble stores on those days. At the Barnes & Noble in Princeton (at the Princeton Market Fair) on Friday September 9th from10:00am to noon there will be a Musical Story Time with Miss Amy, who will also be celebrating the release of her new "Wide Wide World" CD. There will also be a special appearance by Winnie the Pooh in Person!
"Encouraging kids to read is a big objective that I have. In fact, I have a song called 'Old MacDonald Had A Vowel Farm' on my latest CD that has a catchy hook about A.E.I.O.U and sometimes Y", explains Miss Amy, a music educator, Yoga instructor and avid reader herself. "It’s a real honor to be asked to be a part of this event, and I hope to foster awareness of the importance of reading to everyone there".
