selected Munax (www.munax.com) to power their nation-wide Search Engine.
For years Leit has been the leading search engine in Iceland. Leit has until now been powered by
Ultraseek owned by Verity (www.verity.com). As of August this year, after a very successful testperiod,
a new generation of Search - Munax - has taken its place. Leit now confirms that Verity’s product
Ultraseek was no match for Munax Search. Leit tested a range of search engines but none could beat the
unparalleled performance, accuracy and features of Munax.
”Now we can serve our visitors with the largest Icelandic index and provide them with top speed and
accuracy on page search, but not only that, we can serve any type of search like image, video, software
and sound search”, says Mr. Pall Jonsson, the CEO at Leit.
To attract visitors and thereby stay in competition, Leit needed to upgrade to a cutting edge search
technology. Munax challenged Leit and took it to a higher level.
”We expect to see an overall major increase in traffic when we activate Munax' awesome features. For the
Munax image search alone, the traffic exploded the same day that we opened that feature, and we did not

Leit further confirms that Munax will provide them with a new revenue source; Munax Site Search. It will
enable Leit to sell out-sourced search to those companies that want an easy way to setup search on their
sites.
Munax was created by Jan Olof Granlund, a Swedish computer scientist. The research and development
of the Munax technology started in July 2002, and was completed in December 2004. Munax LLC was
