"Cap Finds a New Boy", by Rosemary McCarthy (www.theadventuresofcap.com), is about "Cap" a red baseball Cap who loses his boy. As Cap is the narrator of the story, his trials and tribulations and how he overcomes them, and his fears, are told from his perspective.
"Children empathize with cap and his fears. They learn how not to let their fears get the best of them", Mc Carthy said.
Cap can see and hear everything that is going on, and he has feelings - just like us.In one episode,
Cap has just blown out of the car window off Brad's head. Brad can't come back to get him. Cap spends a rainy night on a street corner where he feels lonely and dejected.
During his ordeal, Cap remembers things his mother told him, and that sees him through his potentially very scary night. Cap also remembers fondly his fun times with Brad: going out all day biking, camping out, playing baseball, going swimming and lots more fun things. As Cap forgets his troubles, he has a great night's sleep. "This beautifully illustrated children's book is for both boys and girls 5-8 years old" McCarthy added.(END)
