Founded by Guitarist Werner and Vocalist Tone in February 1996, Gatewaymusic's reputation for passionate live rock performances has blessed them with a strong local fanbase of a 1,000 regulars in and beyond Austria. The year 1996 saw them record their EP-CD called "Gateway."

The following year was marked by some press features in Austria and Spain. The group's 1998 and 1999 CD sampler inputs with Austrian music monthly "X-ACT" were followed by many gigs in town and out of town.

Autumn 2002 to spring 2004 saw Gatewaymusic perform extensively throughout Austria, Southern Germany and Northern Italy which helped them win new supporters. Gatewaymusic did their last performances so far in April/May 2004 and are currently submerged into writing and recording songs for a new album (to be released in 2006) at their project studio.
