(Providence, RI, USA) Joe Cantone of Cranston, RI was the big winner of Centra Entertainment's prize competition held at Club Ultra in Providence, Rhode Island last Saturday, April 22nd.
The competition began with Tony Caramadre, known locally as "Rhode Island's Man of Music" introducing the event to a packed house.
Caramadre is also the owner of Phattones Studio in Warwick whose Phattones Enewsletter is known to musicians and entertainment professionals nationwide.
SPOGGA, a musician/entertainer known best locally for his fire dancing performances at Waterfire in Providence gave an enthusiastically received opening performance.
Mike Sahagian who now hails from Cumberland, and known best from Britney Spears fame as her preferred touring keyboardist was in attendance as a judge for the event.
The event is a unique contest of ability, presentability and noticability with one stage one theme and many performers all in one show. When it was over, "Giovanni", the executive producer of Centra Entertainment announced the competition winners.
Poliana Jovita of Framingham, MA won for best model, Joe Cantone or Cranston, RI won as the best vocalist, and the dance group Street Noise of Providence, RI won for best Dance.
After some deliberation, the 2006 Talent Search winner and $1000 overall prize went to Joe Cantone of Cranston, Rhode Island. Centra Entertainment is based in Cranston, Rhode Island.
