A Bedtime Story from M. Night Shyamalan
M Night Shyamalan, the man who brought us The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs and The Village, is back with what sounds like a slightly kindler, gentler film - Lady in the Water. But don't let the title or even the poster fool you, this is a Shyamalan creation and so you know there will be plenty of twists and hopefully more than a few thrills.
Inspired by a story Shyamalan told his kids, this PG-13 film tells the tale of a building manager named Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) who comes to the rescue of a beautiful woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) he finds in his swimming pool. He comes to discover the woman is actually a character from a bedtime story who is trying to get back to her world.
Lady in the Water surfaces on July 21, 2006.
