Notre Dame College’s Web site homepage displays the motto, “Changing the world one student at a time.” Now that the institution has signed on with Learning House, Inc. (www.learninghouse.com) to launch online courses, the reach of that mission will soon be far wider.

“Notre Dame College seeks to augment its face-to-face programs with an online component, especially in education courses,” said T.J. Arant, Vice President for Academic Affairs. From its campus in South Euclid, Ohio, Notre Dame College (www.notredamecollege.edu) currently serves 1,500 students. “One need is to serve better our off-site centers of instruction. We are at capacity, and online programs will help ease some of our space issues.”

In searching for a company that could turn our idea of online education into a reality, Arant said, “We heard good things about Learning House from its current clients. We are impressed by Learning House’s professionalism and commitment to ‘doing things right.’” Additionally, “We believe this partnership will allow us to get online at a fraction of the cost we would incur doing it alone.”

“In the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame, Notre Dame College educates a diverse population for personal, professional and global responsibility,” Arant said of the institution’s driving goals. Its first program launched online to take that mission global will be education.
