The Financial Services Authority (FSA) wants a fair treatment toward consumers by the financial product distributors. These distributors like personal loan firms, mortgage providers and credit card companies have interlocking responsibilities towards their consumers.

London (shakespearefinance.co.uk) October 4, 2006: A new report states that the Financial Service Authority has taken a step for the fair treatment of financial consumers by the financial product companies. The FSA has also encouraged financial providers like personal loan firms, mortgage providers and credit card companies to help design the products for getting the right financial information.

To help consumers, financial providers can help them by giving them the right financial information so as to avoid unfair outcomes.

Mr John Tiner, FSA chief executive said, “Today’s paper is an important element of the Treating Customers Fairly initiative. It is designed to help ensure outcomes for consumers are fair regardless of the route by which they have received a financial product or whether it was provided and distributed by a single institution or by two or more.”

A recent research done by the FSA revealed that the consumers are more actively shopping around for their mortgage and for other loans. Consumers who get the right information from the financial product companies understand the terms and conditions in a better way.
