For_Immediate_Release:
James Cameron's got his hands full with his comeback sci-fi flick, Avatar, but he's apparently not too busy to write and produce another flick that combines two of his pet interests: 3-D filmmaking and aquatic adventures. Cameron will rewrite the script and have a hand in the production of James Cameron's Sanctum, a modestly budgeted (by Cameron standards) drama about a deep-sea diving team headed by a father and son that finds itself in a life-threatening situation after diving to uncharted depths. The movie will begin production next spring. … Meanwhile, fellow Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood has a release date for Letters From Iwo Jima, the Japanese-language companion piece to upcoming World War II drama Flags of Our Fathers. Letters, which tells the story of the titular battle from the Japanese perspective, will open in Japan in December and then hit Stateside on Feb. 9.
