Just About Books airs on Monday evenings from 9 pm to 10 pm (Eastern Time). Cheryl Robinson, executive producer and radio host, serves as the listener’s literary consultant and delivers an appealing mixture of informational and entertaining forums every week on current, past and forthcoming books. Just About Books Internet Radio Talk Show is the centerpiece of a new website, http://www.JustAboutBooksTalkShow.com , launched in August. The talk show interviews authors—mainstream, mid-list and self-published—who inform the public about their latest books and give insight to the many challenges of writing. The show follows a one-hour format to allow each author time to thoroughly discuss his/her book to the listening audience of African American book lovers.
The weekly talk show provides high-energy and thought-provoking discussions that go beyond a book’s cover and well into the pages of understanding with authors, readers, listeners and book clubs. The show touches both young and old and provides the entertainment that a niche-market radio audience has come to expect. Additionally, guests are invited to share information about a book, their writing experiences or a literary event with the audience.
Last year, Talkers Magazine, the Bible of talk radio and the new talk media, mentioned Just About Books Talk Show and Cheryl Robinson in the News Notes section when the show was initially launched. Cheryl Robinson has brought the talk show a long way since launching in May 2005 and is rapidly building a huge listener base among readers and book clubs nationally and internationally.
Just About Books Talk Show’s reputation in the literary community has many authors of all genres clamoring to be guests on the show. Robinson is a lively host and enthusiastically articulates her unique spin on the book reviews. “I never had to wonder if Cheryl Robinson would actually take the time to read my book before interviewing me because I knew she would. My interviews on Just About Books have always been in depth, and just as important, I’ve always felt like I was talking to a friend,” says Gloria Mallette, a national best-selling author. Vincent McGlothin, an Essence magazine best-selling author, commented, “Just About Books is essential to the African American literary community. Without such a venue to promote and discuss our stories, we, as a culture, would be sorely under represented and missing out on an excellent vehicle that keeps us connected and involved.”
According to Cheryl Robinson, “We’re extremely excited about launching our website and being able to reach a greater mass audience. Every week, we feature an extraordinary lineup of celebrities and successful authors sharing their books.”
Just About Books Talk Show will showcase authors, book clubs and literary events each Monday at 9 pm (Eastern Time). Please visit the website and listen to the show on http://www.JustAboutBooksTalkShow.com. ###
