About 500 mining experts, engineers and environmentalists will take part in the three day ‘International Coal Congress & Expo 2006” to begin in capital from December 11, 2006.

Experts attending the conference being organized jointly by the Institute of Engineers, Union Ministries of Coal, Power, Mines and Steel, along with Coal India, NTPC, SAIL and Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited with a theme ‘Sustainable Development of Coal for Energy Security’ will be discussing ways and means to increase production of coal and making it into an affordable reliable energy source.

Mr S.K.Chowdhary,Chairman, orgnaising Committee of the congress Said “ Coal Mining experts from more than 15 countries including USA, UK, Australia, China, France,Poland and Russia will present keynote papers on various subjects including expanding the resource base in Coal, new tehnology and innovations for exploitaion of coal, expanding role of coal in the power generation, improving environment performance of coal an safety in coal mines”.

Major highlight of the coal congress will be an international Coal Expo with display of latest technologies in the field of coal mining by the industry.

The eminent exprts attending the meet will include Prof. J.Dubinski, chairman, World mining Congress (Poland) , Prof. Fan weitang, china, Jaime Gutierrez, Mexico, J.Skiba, Japan, Dr D.Menzie, USA and Y.N.Malyshov, Russia.
