The Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, the oldest student-run legal services organization in the country, has elected a new board of directors.

The Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, the oldest student-run legal services organization in the country, has elected its new board of directors. Since 1914, approximately 20 student at Harvard Law School are selected annually through a competitive application process during their first year of law school and make a two-year commitment to the organization. Bureau members provide free legal representation to low-income clients in the greater Boston community, handling cases involving a diverse range of practice areas including housing, employment, domestic, and public benefits law. Over the years, the Bureau has successfully adapted with changing times, and currently serves a dual function of community service and pedagogy. Alumni of the Bureau include Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Supreme Court Justice William Brennan, and renowned constitutional scholars Professors Laurence Tribe and Erwin Chemerinsky.

Lam Ho
Brockton, MA
Lam Ho was born in Vietnam and grew up in Brockton, MA, He graduated with degrees in English Literature from Brown University in 2001 before pursuing a Ph.D. at Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar. Ho plans to pursue a career in civil rights law.

Anna Ferrari
Los Altos Hills, CA
Anna Ferrari grew up near Palo Alto, CA in Los Altos Hills and earned her undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley (’03) in Political Economy and English. Ferrari looks forward to a career in litigation, and will work this summer as an associate at Morrison & Foerster in Palo Alto.

Erika Anderson
Boulder, CO
Erika Anderson grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and after spending a few years in Tucson, Arizona, she returned to Boulder to pursue a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Colorado. Her current work focuses on Family law and Social Security benefits, but after graduation she hopes to work on broader policy issues affecting poverty law and indigenous peoples.

Heather Byrd
Atlanta, Georgia
Heather grew up in Atlanta and got her Bachelors in Legal Communication at Howard University. She graduated from Howard in 2005. Heather plans to pursue a litigation career and is looking forward to working this summer at Alston and Bird and also as a judicial intern for Judge Gerald Bruce Lee, District Court Easter District of Virginia.
