Palatine, IL – April 6th, 2006 –. Comedy for a Cure is an evening of laughter and hope that first launched nine years ago in New York to raise funds to support research to find a cure for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Since then, Comedy for a Cure has raised more than $900,000 and has expanded to Los Angeles, Boston and now Chicago.

TSC is a devastating genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow in vital organs including the brain, heart, skin, kidney and lungs. These tumors cause serious health problems like epilepsy, autism, heart disease, mental retardation, facial disfigurement, kidney failure, lung disease, and even death. TSC is a leading genetic cause of both epilepsy and autism and is as common as muscular dystrophy and ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Comedy for a Cure Chicago takes place on October 11, 2007, at Joe’s Sports Bar, 940 W. Weed Street. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a VIP celebrity cocktail reception, followed by silent and live auctions and finishes with a cabaret show featuring the hottest comedians in Chicago
