Security options

Two ways to protect your data: Zip password protection and AES Encryption. GBM adpots Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption to protect backed up data privacy.

Managing Open Files

GBM can backup files that are being used by other applications which few other companies handle. Furthermore, Genie Backup Manager offers File Access Manager (FAM), an optional ad-on software, that ensures skipped-files-free backups.

Cataloging

The function: catalog reconds a history of backup jobs and the files backed up during each backup run. With this feature users can keep track of file versions and search for, run, view and extract files directly from the backup set without going through the restore wizard.

Scheduling Unattended Backup Tasks

To avoid interrupting work or slowing down the machine while it is being actively used, users can schedule unattended backup tasks to run at times that guarantee no interruptions to their work.

Value Added Tools

GBM provides two stand alone utilities that when combined offer high level data privacy protection
Genie-Wipe: A value added utility that permanently deletes files by repeatedly writing over the data contained in the file using special algorithms until the file is virtually irretrievable

Genie Eyes-Only: Genie Eyes-Only is GBM Pro's stand alone encryption utility; it supports AES encryption in 3 different strengths: 128-bit AES, 192-bit AES and 256-bit AES.


Normal, Increment, Mirror, and Differential backups

Backup all selected files or changed and new files and do fiile filtering which means users can filter selected files in My Folders using filename masks. For example, users can choose to backup only .doc files in a certain folder or exclude all .exe files from another.

Data integrity testing

Perform bit-by-bit data integrity tests on your backed up data to ensure it can be reliably restored.

Running backup tasks while logged off

The backup task which schedule can run even Windows is logged off. This feature ensures more security, since backup tasks can now run even when no user is logged on, thus, restricting physical access to the data on the computer.

Multi-drive spanning

This new feature enables users to span backed up data onto more than one local/LAN location, this includes multiple partitions, hard disks, shared and mapped networked locations, SAN and NAS devices etc...

Easy and Normal backup wizard layouts

GBM pro offers two Backup Wizard layout for users: easy and normal. Novice users could use the Easy Backup Wizard layout which provides a 2-step straightforward wizard layout for users who hope to backup and restore documents quickly and simply. While, advanced users will find the normal backup wizard a more flexible and powerful layout with more advanced features at their disposal.

CRC data verification

After backup, GBM pro will use CRC integrity checks for backed up data immediately in order to ensure your backups are reliable, and have not been tampered with.

Search for Files

The Genie Backup Manager catalog now comes equipped with an advanced search option that makes it easy to locate files that have been previously backed up.

Optional Logging of All Operations

Users can view optionally the logs and reports about backup, restore, and data integrity testing. The Logs Manager is where you can go to view, print, and manager all your backup logs.
