The backup job in Genie Outlook Backup 6.0 is divided into two different layouts in order to make the backup process as simple as possible.
You can switch between Easy Backup layout and Normal Backup layout by using the "Switch Layout" button in the main menu or by going to Preferences and clicking "Change Layout" in the "General Settings" window.
Normal Backup (Four-step Wizard)
This is a 4-step backup wizard that was designed to suit advanced users. This wizard also guides the users through the backup process.

The Backup Job
The “Backup Job” window is the first step in Normal backup mode, here you have two sets of options:
1- Create a New Backup Job
A- Backup Job Name
B- Backup File Name

F- Create shortcut on Desktop
2- Load a Previous Backup Job
A- Backup Job Name
B- Jobs Manager

Backup Media Type
Genie Outlook Backup offers three backup methods for the user to select from.
1- Backup to a Local/LAN File or to a remote FTP Server
a) Backup to Local/LAN location: This option allows the user to backup unlimited amount of data, which would be automatically split into files with a maximum single file size of 2GB.
b) Backup to a remote FTP server: This option to backup data to a remote FTP server allows the user to backup a maximum of 2GB of data.
c) Backup data as an executable EXE file: This feature makes it possible for the user to backup a maximum of 2GB of data in the form of an executable file.
2- Backup to Multiple Disks (Removable Devices)
By selecting this backup method, you will be able to save the backup file on a removable device: a floppy device, a zip-drive, etc.
3- Backup to DVD±RW/DVD±R/DVD-RAM/CD-R/CD-RW
By selecting this backup method, the user will be able to backup data to one or more DVDs/CDs. This option also makes it possible for the user to backup data of unlimited size to DVDs/CDs.

In the Backup Items window the user gets to select the data that he/she wants to backup, these items include:

Backup Settings
The Backup Settings window is the 4th step in Normal mode backup In here you can find four sets of options:
1. Backup Settings
Normal Backup: Using this type of backup, the new backup job overwrites the previous one. A new backup archive is created to replace the old one.
Increment Backup: Using this type of backup, Genie Outlook Backup detects previous backups, and adds the new files that are not present in the old backup job. By comparing the files' "last modified" time and date; new files are determined and then added to the archive.
Mirror Backup: Using this type of data backup, new files are added, while deleting files that don’t exist in the new backup job and updating existing ones. This backup type will produce a backup file that is exactly identical to the selected backup items.
2- Backup Compression Settings:
This set of options allows the user to choose to compress the backup data or not, and to choose the level of compression if the data compression option was chosen.
3. Security Settings:
No Security: The user can choose to continue the backup process without any security option.
Password Protection: This option is only available with the “Backup with Compression” option in the “Compression Settings” window. The user can enter the password in the “Password” field and then confirm it in the “Confirm Password” field.
128 Bit Encryption: The user can choose to encrypt the backup data by checking the “Enable 128bit Encryption” option. This option encrypts data using the Blowfish method, which is a highly secure 128-bit encryption algorithm that provides maximum security for your data.
4- Advanced Settings
Send e-mail notification: This option gives the user the option to receive notification e-mail. This email contains information about the backup job.
E-mail Settings: To set the email-notification settings
Shutdown the computer after the backup is finished: This power-saving feature gives the user the option to shutdown the computer automatically after the backup process is finished.
