Peggy McKee, founder of PHC Consulting, launched her new and improved website – www.phcconsulting.com, on January 31st, 2007. PHC Consulting is an executive search firm that specializes in providing top sales talent, sales management, marketing and service / support personnel to some of the most prominent high growth companies in the laboratory products industry!
She had a decent website before but without Search Engine Optimization (SEO), she felt that she was not reaching her potential target audience. The new website, which was developed by the designers at Recruiting-USA.com, was designed for SEO. Peggy, also, started a blog - Medical Sales Recruiter - Tips & Quips (address: http://www.phcconsulting.com/WordPress/index.php) late in 2006. The blog is there to help candidates and managers understand the role of the laboratory sales executive recruiter and the perspective they have of the job search. Specifically, Peggy provides great advice about resumes, interviews, networks and career management for the laboratory industry sales or management professional. Before the blog and the updated website, Peggy’s website was only drawing around 50 visitors per week. In February, the new site was already averaging 60 visitors per day!!! Now the website is being visited by 100 people per day! So in a single day, her site is experiencing as many visitors as her old site would get in 2 weeks!! The impact to her business is multi-faceted. She has developed relationships with companies that she had no relationship with before. The increased number of candidates has given her a much greater base to recruit from. This base allows her to pursue more searches and have more qualified candidates to choose from. What an exciting time for PHC Consulting and their customers!
In the past, most of the candidate pool was developed through networking, cold calling and attending industry trades shows (AACC, ASM, CLMA, AACR, NSH, etc). Of course these avenues are still a mainstay for Peggy’s firm but with the internet revolution, more and more candidates are looking online to make a connection with a reputable, quality recruitment firm.
