Austin, TX— September 10, 2007, CEO Ben Jenkins announced the launch of ShoppingCause.com, a company that connects shoppers and merchants to Causes that need financial support.
Using a merchant affiliate program that features over 200 retailers and includes Barnes and Noble and Target, shoppers access a merchant through the ShoppingCause.com site. A portion of the proceeds from the user’s purchase will be sent to ShoppingCause.com; these funds are then redistributed to the user’s desired charity.
“It’s a win-win situation,” says Jenkins. “Everyone buys and spends what they normally do at the retailers they normally shop at, and the specified cause earns a cash back donation from ShoppingCause.com.”
Helping causes like local little league teams, to kids with cancer, to church afterschool programs, ShoppingCause.com works with organizations that have 501 (c)(3) status, as well as those that do not. “I was able to raise $5,000 for my son’s baseball team,” says Lisa of Atlanta.
An Austin native, Jenkins places a high priority on commerce with care. “ShoppingCause.com was founded on the belief that if we all do a small thing, big things can be achieved.”
