Are you applying philosophy, psychology and universal law to market yourself and your business?
To fully utilize what is called Attraction Marketing, you'd be hard pressed to find a more complete performer than the Reverse Funnel System.
The system, developed by the renowned entrepreneur Ty Coughlin, has applied some basic understandings of human nature into a unique marketing funnel.
The most important facet is the ability to 'weed' out the cynics, and to inspire the skeptics to discover, for themselves, if this is the system for them.
Now back to school for a moment.......
"skeptic" or "sceptic"(outside of the USA) – noun
......a person who questions the validity or authenticity of something purporting to be factual.
"cynic" - noun
......a person who believes that only selfishness motivates human actions and who disbelieves in or minimizes selfless acts or disinterested points of view.
The difference between a skeptic and a cynic is that a skeptic never had hope, so they find it difficult to believe, whereas a cynic once had hope, lost it, and now refuses to believe.
"Cynics blindly accept any information that confirms their lack of faith in humanity. Skeptics question everything, even the bad news.. Cynics are easy for the media to control. Skeptics aren't."
While a "skeptic" has reservations about things, a cynic has a negative attitude about everything. The word has a negative connation. A cynic is someone who doesn't believe that people can be good. When people are good, he believes that they are being nice because they have an ulterior motive. A cynic does not trust or respect the goodness of other people. The school of Cynics was started by Antisthenes and he and his followers believed that virtue was the only good. They felt that the only way to remain virtuous was through self-discipline and independence. It's strange that a word that began by having a positive meaning ended up with a negative one!
In philosophy, skepticism refers more specifically to any one of several propositions. These include propositions about
1. an inquiry
2. the limitations of knowledge,
3. a method of obtaining knowledge through systematic doubt and continual testing,
4. the arbitrariness, relativity, or subjectivity of moral values,
5. a method of intellectual caution and suspended judgment,
6. does not mean pessimism; or lack of confidence
When applying Psychology to a marketing campaign, it is as simple as saying that some people will immediately respond by following an inner knowing, the true Skeptics will at least do some investigating, and the Cynics, the quintessential "know-it-alls" will probably prefer to voice (and usually very loudly) their view on the opportunity, topic, product, system, whateverÂ…. which of course is ultimately only a true personal outlook on their own life.
So, what do you prefer to see yourself as?
To conclude, the Reverse Funnel System is a system designed to attract serious applicants, be that an established Entrepreneur or the little guy who has a real desire to make changes in life. To be honest, any self professed cynics are not the type of people who will be attracted to this particular opportunity.
The thought for today is to relish in your skepticism, trust your instincts and remember this quote from James Bryant Conant.....
"Behold the turtle: He only makes progress when he sticks his neck out."
