Michael Hodges who publishes the Godfather Economic Report uncovers statistics that are staggering if not frightening. This is his conclusion. America has become more a debt 'junkie' - - than ever before with total debt of $48 Trillion - - and the highest debt ratio in history. That's $161,287 per man, woman and child - - or $645,148 per family of 4, $45,514 more debt per family than last year.

Last year total debt increased #43.9 Trillion, 5 times more than GDP. External debt owed foreign interests increased $1 Trillion; Household, business and financial sector debt soared 9%. 72% ($35 trillion) of total debt was created since 1990, a period primarily driven by debt instead of by productive activity.

Hard times demand s hard choices. I have read that Ross Perot started his first company with FREE Government Grant money. Did you know that Amazon.com, Ameritrade and Ritz Camera all received money to start or expand their businesses?

A weak economy does not signal the end of the world. American’s have always been enterprising and discover new frontier’s to keep the American dream alive. There are many, but one such frontier is called – Government grants. A grant is much different than a loan. Loans must be repaid with interest. Grants, on the other hand, need never be repaid. Explore your opportunities. Become creative. Think outside the box. Government grants may be your beginning for brighter and more successful days.
