As of June 2007, the company operated 121 stores across Korea and China including, seven department stores, 106 discount stores, a premium outlet in Korea, and seven discount stores in China.

Shinsegae's E-Marts have a leading market position in the discount store chain category. In 2006, E-mart's market share was 25.8% based on the number of stores, ahead of Samsung Tesco and Lotte Mart.
