For_Immediate_Release:
For the last five years the Philomath High School Art Department has sponsored the Willamette Valley High School Art Competition. This year, a total of 24 schools participated in the competition, providing 250 individual works to be judged. 102 pieces from 14 schools, including ten works of Delphian School students, received awards and were accepted into an exhibit which will be on display at the Benton County Historical Museum in Philomath, from March 6th - March 20th.
Prizes and scholarships totaling $4000 will be awarded at the reception being held at the museum in Philomath on Saturday, March 8th, from 2:00-4:00. Operating costs of the competition and the exhibit are paid mainly by grants from the Oregon Education Association and Selco Community Credit Union.
The following Delphian School students won awards in seven of fifteen possible categories:
