The targeted market is the vacationing/touring/cruising motorcyclist who has left his bike at home, yet would love to enjoy the touring experience on a bike. The offering is for seven to ten vacationing bikers with radio-equipped helmets listening to a MP3 tour specific recording. They are led by an off duty policeman or fireman with GPS equipped bikes.

Each six-hour tour is optimized for exposure to beautiful landscapes, walking tours, historical sightseeing and unique dining opportunities. The cost of $345 combines a guided tour with bikes and equipment supplied, lunch and admission to parks or tour areas.

The Hampton Roads Area of Virginia, which includes areas such as Williamsburg, Virginia Beach and Norfolk, was selected as the first area to launch Time Rider Motorcycle Tours. The beauty of the landscape, climate, the close proximity of attractions and the history of the area make it the ideal location. The tours will be a time traveling experience from meeting Pocahontas in Jamestown in 1607 through a 2008 ferry ride across the James River. Bus tours are available to places, such as Jamestown, but the tourist must disembark the bus and tour on foot. Motorcycles are allowed onto the property to tour on the bikes.
