First Road Race brings 2nd place glory for Portadown youth

Riding at his first ever Road Race Wayne Hamilton, 17 from Portadown showed grit and determination. Wayne was delighted with his performance at Scarborough
“I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever road race – it was great to get the opportunity to ride and the H&T Transport bikes were running 100% spot on. I still can’t quite believe I got a 2nd place!! There are some really tight corners on the course and it gave me the chance to ride with some big names such as the Dunlop clan. I have to admit I heaved a sigh of relief as I passed the chequered flag but with this race under my belt I’ll have continued confidence at the short circuits.”

The H&T Transport 125 and 250 machines both attracted attention as they pulled away from the competition with Dwyer Agnew (Lurgan) on the 250 and Wayne, 17, (Portadown) achieving a 4th and a proud 2nd in the 125class.

1998 British Championship winner Woolsey Coulter said “I’m expecting excellent results for Wayne, this year, based on what I have seen in Spain. With the H&T Transport bikes at peak performance, a good attitude, and a brush up in Spain, the sky’s the limit for Wayne Hamilton”.

Dwyer will be riding for the H&T Transport team at the NorthWest200 this year, taking the 250 out at Scarborough was ideal to familiarise himself with the machine.

Wayne said “I recently set up a website to promote my racing, the sport and my sponsors. I want them to feel that I’m giving them something back so please visit the webpage and learn more my whole effort”. WWW.TEAMHAMILTON.CO.UK
