3rd Annual Parental Alienation Awareness Day !

Ontario, Canada, April 25, 2008 – 2008 is the 3rd Parental Alienation Awareness Day or PAAD (http://www.paawareness.org). The cause: to advocate for children caught in the cycle of Parental Alienation (PA), a form of emotional and mental child abuse. Most often this occurs when one parent intentionally or inadvertently pits the child against the other parent.

To date, Parental Alienation Awareness Day has been officially recognized by 14 US Proclamations and Recognitions, 2 Canadian Proclamations and 1 International Proclamation.

Parental Alienation Awareness Day continues to spread around the globe as more participants in more countries join in the effort to help our future generations grow up in mental and emotionally safer environments. This year Parental Alienation Awareness Day has enjoyed participation from Mexico, Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Italy, Poland, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, as well as Canada and the United States.

"People all over the world have banded together today to show that they are committed to bringing awareness Parental Alienation and it's harmful effects to children," explained Parental Alienation Awareness Organization Vice President Robert Samery. "It is important to the children that we become educated about the long term harmful effects of these behaviors on children."

Many groups and individuals have mobilized this today, to educate parents, teachers, child welfare workers, judges, law enforcement, therapists and others directly involved with children about these issues. Parental Alienation Awareness Organization is co-sponsoring a series of webinars alongside A Center for Human Potential, to help further educate the public and professionals about these issues. Other organizations and individuals are holding candlelight vigils, peaceful demonstrations, seminars and conferences in their area, releasing press releases and articles in the papers; others are doing marches, or simply distributing posters and pamphlets in high traffic areas...

Parental Alienation Awareness Day Founder Sarvy Emo is encouraged by the show of support and solidarity from around the globe. "I'm so glad to see such a small idea have such a huge impact all around the world! We're thrilled and grateful to the many people who have worked hard to make the day a success," stated Emo. "We will continue our campaign of awareness until every child can exercise his or her right to be loved by both parents. With awareness comes the power to stop the abuse of children caught in the crossfire of people they love!"
